Found this on the ground while returning a library book a few years ago–have cherished it ever since. I wish I could know the person who drew this!
Lila knew that the day she was born was the happiest day of her parents’ lives. How could it not be? Before that all they had was her snotty brother Matt, and after that things went bad very quickly with the arrival of her snotty brother Jonathan.
I’ve been tweaking this recipe until it’s barely recognizable from the original (which was a Melissa Clark NY Times recipe).
The best part of this recipe is its adaptability. Any nuts, any seeds, any grains!
I’m trying to think of the best meal I’ve ever had, and I just keep getting flashes–there is goat cheese, there are popovers, steaming pizza, fresh salad. Continue reading
